How to Look Your Best This Holiday Season

The holiday season is upon us! This is an exciting time of year for get-togethers with friends and family, as well as lots of holiday parties. With each event comes tons of PHOTOS! From selfies, to group selfies, to memorable family portraits, these images will forever be a part of your history. If these thoughts provoke angst, it’s time to talk about how to improve your appearance to look your very best for the holiday season.

With only a few weeks left, surgery is probably not the way to go for a quick fix. As much as I love to operate, there are more timely options that yield the same immediate or almost immediate results. Most people now have heard of Botox and fillers. Here is a run-down of what these are: Botox is a chemical that is used to stop the muscles of your face from forming those unwanted lines, especially on the forehead, between the eyebrows (Glabellar) and around the eyes (Crow’s Feet). It will not make those stubborn lines disappear immediately, but will soften them within about 3-5 days and with upkeep, can eventually get rid of those lines for good. You may have also heard of Dysport. It is a chemical similar to Botox, but takes effect a few days sooner! Both are typically used interchangeably.

The next topic is fillers. These include Juvederm, Restalyn, Voluma, etc, etc… There are A LOT. Simply put, a filler is used to fill in lines. These typically include the nasolabial fold (smile lines next to the nose) and marionette lines (from the corner of the mouth down). Voluma is a relatively new product that is used around the cheeks to help give a bit of a lift to that area. Fillers can also be used to plump up that upper lip! That would look great in pictures, even if you don’t make that fish/kiss lips look!

The best thing to do is to come in for a consultation to determine what would be best for you! Hurry in, before someone takes an unexpected snapshot of you! The smartphones are everywhere!

You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair.
