Skin wellness is a lifetime practice. You may be looking to turn back the clock, undo sins of the past (smoking, sun exposure), manage a chronic condition (rosacea, eczema, acne), maintain the results of a cosmetic procedure, or are on a clean road of prevention. Here at Blaine Plastic Surgery, we have a range of procedures and products to help you navigate every stage of your skin’s journey to optimal health and optimal appearance.
Our medical grade chemical peel treatments range in both potency and effect. A chemical peel can offer a mild, refreshing exfoliation as monthly maintenance, or can penetrate deeper as part of a corrective remedy for uneven skin tone and/or texture. Glycolic, salicylic, hyaluronic and mandelic acids are some of the chief ingredients in our peels, and the specific concentration and potency of these ingredients will be carefully selected by our Medical Aesthetician to most effectively address your specific skin concerns.
At Blaine Plastic Surgery we offer a variety of PCA Skin Chemical Peels that are specifically designed to improve fine lines and wrinkles, shrink pore size, and correct sun damage and dark spots, as well as treat acne-prone and broken out skin. Our chemical peels work to exfoliate the skin and promote cell turnover, shedding the dead and damaged skin cells while making way for the reveal of new, fresh, and undamaged skin cells. Some of our lighter peels offer little to no downtime, while our deeper peel offerings will bring about some peeling or shedding of the skin that can take several days to resolve completely.
Your medical aesthetician will use a small, surgical scalpel to gently shave the skin’s surface, removing the top layer of dead skin along with any fine vellus hair, commonly referred to as peach fuzz. The effects of a dermaplaning procedure are instant, leaving your skin with a smooth appearance and a radiant glow. Along with the removal of fine hairs, dermaplaning triggers the cell regeneration process for vibrant, freshly exfoliated skin.
Fractora is a dynamic multi-tasking device that profoundly reduces active acne and acne scars, tightens and lifts aging skin, and improves pigment concerns offering a healthy and youthful appearance for ALL skin types. Tiny needles spring a few millimeters into the skin to deliver radiofrequency energy past the epidermis into the dermis. The injection points of these needles act as a method of resurfacing the topmost layer of the skin. Both the tiny needles and the radiofrequency energy delivered during a Fractora treatment approach the skin together to stimulate new collagen growth and cell turnover to make this a powerful, multi-benefit treatment.
A Fractora treatment is most effective when done in a three to four treatment package, with each treatment spaced roughly one month apart. This treatment can help resurface and tighten the skin of the face, neck, and chest and is often performed as a nice complement to a patient’s normal skin care and injectable routine.
Morpheus8, similar to Fractora, is a dynamic microneedling device that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to remodel subcutaneous fat and stimulate collagen production for overall contour and skin improvements. With tiny needles that penetrate deeper than those of a Fractora treatment, this powerful subdermal adipose remodeling device (SARD) remodels and contours targeted treatment areas for a smoother, tighter, lifted and more toned appearance.
A Hydrafacial is a unique, multifaceted treatment that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant protection simultaneously, resulting in clearer, more beautiful skin with no discomfort or downtime. This treatment is soothing, moisturizing, non-invasive and non-irritating, and leaves you with a post-treatment glow that your friends and family will be envious of!
At Blaine Plastic Surgery we offer various hydrafacial packages designed to address your skin’s unique and specific needs. While your skin is cleansed and pores are open, opt to enhance your hydrafacial experience with a booster serum -choose from Restorative, Age-Refinement, Radiance or Clarifying – an LED treatment, and/or lymphatic drainage.
Laser Hair Removal
One of the most common cosmetic procedures in the United States, laser hair removal is the answer for anyone who wants to remove unwanted hair without painful waxing or tweezing. Hair follicles in unwanted areas (such as the underarms, bikini line, or legs) are targeted by highly concentrated beams of light. This destroys the hair follicles, leaving skin smooth and free of unwanted hair. Laser hair removal is also an extremely fast process, and leaves surrounding skin completely undamaged. Hair in unwanted places can be a major cause of insecurity and low self-esteem, and Dr. Blaine and her team can remedy that by setting you up with effective and easy laser hair removal treatments.
Not all lasers are created equal. Your results are dictated not only by the technology of the device, but by the operator behind it. Dr. Blaine and her clinicians are all laser trained with a medical background that separates their level of treatment from those found in other settings. Additionally, we can offer a range of options for comfort management that are available only in a physician’s office. Upon consultation, your clinician will decide which device is most appropriate for you based on your concerns, skin type and capacity for downtime.
- Contour TRL:
This fully customizable fractional laser peel is capable of penetrating into several layers of the dermis; the depth of your treatment will depend on the individual needs and concerns of the patient. Amplified light energy is used to remove uneven and/or discolored skin layers for the purposes of revealing fresh skin and to facilitate the growth of healthy skin cells to continue enhancing your appearance over time. As with most laser treatments, laser energy will also stimulate collagen production, which will improve the resilience of the skin treated.
- Halo Hybrid:
The Halo is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser that uses the best of both ablative and nonablative technologies to maximize results and reduce patient downtime. A Halo treatment will help to address visible signs of aging, including sun damage, discoloration, uneven skin tone, textural issues, pore size, and fine lines.
A microdermabrasion is a mild yet effective exfoliation treatment perfect for routine skin care maintenance. A handheld device releases a high speed of aluminum oxide crystals onto the face while a special vacuum component collects the debris removed. This treatment is perfect for treating any scarring, discoloration, or sun damage you may have on your face, and it can help reduce age spots and hyperpigmentation. Microdermabrasion will also make your entire face look more youthful, because it thickens the collagen in your skin. This treatment only takes a half hour, so it’s a great choice for anyone looking to give their face a new glow.
Microneedling creates small “micro-channels” that allow skincare products, such as potent serums or PRP, to penetrate and absorb into the deeper layers of the skin to deliver more powerful results than when applied topically alone. These tiny needlesticks also act as sites of mini-injuries, which kicks your skin into healing mode, further stimulating collagen and elastin production. This process plumps the skin and improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and pores. Unlike lasers, microneedling is safe for all skin types and can be done with virtually no downtime or post-treatment restrictions.
BBL (BroadBand Light) is considered the next generation of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light). The light energy delivered by the BBL treatment will gently heat the uppermost layers of your skin. The heat and energy delivered by BBL will be absorbed by the targeted areas and stimulate your skin cells to regenerate new collagen. This process will restore your skin by blending its natural colors and making it smoother, more vibrant, and younger looking. In addition, the photothermal energy will eliminate fine vessels, or capillaries, that cause redness and will reduce unwanted melanin that results in pigmented lesions on the face.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) harnesses the body’s own natural healing properties to speed healing in medical specialties from orthopedics to aesthetics. PRP contains hundreds of proteins called growth factors, which are very important in the healing of injuries. To obtain the PRP needed for a treatment, a small sample of blood is taken from the patient, spun in a centrifuge to separate the PRP from the red and white blood cells, and then applied or injected to the face, neck, chest or scalp. PRP acts as a matrix that promotes your own collagen growth and regenerates tissue, thus restoring youthful skin on the face and new hair growth on the scalp.
Scars from acne or trauma leave more than just a physical mark. Dr. Blaine understands this, and offers a variety of non-surgical interventions to treat scars including chemical peels, Fractora, laser resurfacing, and microneedling. If your scar requires a surgical repair, Dr. Blaine is prepared to consult with you on the surgical procedure, most often performed under a local anesthetic right in the office, and talk to you about the necessary post-procedure care.
