At Blaine Plastic Surgery, we have been proudly providing life-changing treatments to our patients for many years. In all of our years consulting with patients, we have found there are some common questions that often arise. Below are some answers to your most frequently asked questions.
The most comprehensive way to have your questions answered is always through a consultation in one of our offices: contact us online or call (631) 470 – 2000.
There are so many different reasons that one may choose to undergo a surgical or non-surgical procedure at Blaine Plastic Surgery. You could have experienced fluctuations in weight, have had body changes related to pregnancy or nursing, are unhappy with natural signs of aging, or are looking to improve a congenital or trauma related condition. The only reason NOT to explore your plastic surgery options is if you are being pressured by an outside source. It is important that all patients considering a plastic surgery procedure are doing so for themselves. Whether a particular procedure might be best suited to meet your goals will be determined at your consultation based upon your evaluation and discussion with Dr. Blaine.
We get this question a lot, but this is something that we can really only answer after an in person consultation and exam. If you are looking for permanent and long-lasting results, plastic surgery is often the best option. With that said, if you do not have the downtime to commit to your recovery or if you are not a candidate for a surgical procedure (due to medical reasons), it is definitely possible to achieve a great cosmetic result with our non-surgical treatment options. We pride ourselves on providing options to fit every lifestyle and budget and have heavily vetted each treatment option we offer to ensure its efficacy.
If you are interested in cosmetic injections (Botox and/or Cosmetic Fillers) a consultation with the professionals and expert injectors here at Blaine Plastic Surgery will best determine which injectable product and service is best for you. We offer a wide variety of the leading FDA approved injectable products, which will be selected by your clinician based on your unique anatomy and aesthetic goals. Whether you are looking to reduce animation lines, want to add some volume to your lips, or want to reduce signs of facial aging overall, we will work with you to customize the perfect treatment plan to attain your desired result!

While the decision as to which implants are best suited for a specific patient is best determined by a physical exam, there are some considerations a patient can weigh prior to their in-person consultation. Implants filled with silicone gel were re-approved by the FDA in 2006 and, since then, have been the most favored option for breast augmentation amongst patients and surgeons alike. The silicone gel implant is very realistic-feeling and is widely considered to look and feel much more natural than saline implant options. Saline implants are the most cost-efficient implant option and many patients find comfort in the safety of saline implants, as these implants are made of a silicone shell that is filled with salt water. Dr. Blaine is proud to be one of the few surgeons in the tri-state area to offer the Ideal ® Breast implant - a saline breast implant option that offers a natural look and feel comparable to silicone options.
Together, you and Dr. Blaine will discuss your concerns and cosmetic goals, and paired with your physical evaluation will determine the best implant for you.Allowing for adequate recovery time is a very important part of your surgical journey and each procedure has its own post-operative recommendations and protocols. The clinical staff at Blaine Plastic Surgery will guide you through all your pre- and post-operative instructions and are available to you 24 hours a day for any questions along the way. We want to make sure each patient enjoys a safe and seamless recovery with long-lasting results, but we know patients can be eager to get back to their routines. Our common goal is to get you looking and feeling as well as possible as quickly as possible.
This is a very common question! It is important for patients to understand that liposuction is not a tool for weight loss. Liposuction is a surgical procedure designed to help patients address localized and stubborn fat deposits, diminishing areas of bulge and excess fat. Liposuction can be performed on its own, but is often paired with other surgical procedures, such as breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and Brazilian Butt Lift.
Make sure the surgeon you choose is a Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is well versed in the field and procedure of interest. When choosing a surgeon, we encourage patients to schedule a consultation, look at reviews, before and after photos, and the plastic surgeon’s website to get an idea of their work and results. The right plastic surgeon will answer absolutely every question that you may have, will not rush you, and will make you feel at ease, comfortable, and confident with your treatment plan.
